August 9

Event: Kitsap County "Team Hope Walk-A-Thon"
Host: HDSA
Location: Bremerton High School Memorial Field
Time: 9:00 PM-3:00 PM
Details: The Walk for HD is Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA)'s signature, nationwide walking campaign designed to raise vital dollars to help improve the lives of people diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. HD profoundly affects the lives of entire families emotionally, socially, and economically. HD is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure.
Due to a Walk-A-Thon not being in our area, we have decided to participate in this wonderful organization to raise money and bring awareness to one of the oldest know diseases to man. One way that we have been able to stay strong is by getting involved with the HDSA, two months ago we started getting information on how to start are own Team Hop Walk-A-Thon in Kitsap County. Last year Northwest HD District held its first annual walk in Auburn Washington. That walk alone raised over $4000.
We are extremely excited to recruit family and friends to join our first annual Kitsap County Team Hope Walk -A- Thon. It will be held on August 9, 2008 from 9:00am - 3:00pm. It will be located at Bremerton High School Memorial Field. This is where you come in. The more people that get involved the more awareness about the disease. Please join us on August 9, 2008 at 9am and let's start making the first step to find a cure.
